MAUSER

HEINER MÜLLER: MAUSER

OSA (OPEN SOCIETY ARCHIVES), BUDAPEST | NOVEMBER 2017

 "A: I made a mistake.

 CHORUS: You are the mistake.

 A: I am human.

 CHORUS: What is that."

In November, 2017 on the 100th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, Blinken OSA presented a unique program series under the title "The Traces of Revolutions". Müller's Mauser was part of that. Mauser is a play about and for revolution. As a work about revolution, it reaches beyond its historic context to thematize antinomies and conflicts which join it to a literary tradition peculiar to European drama after the French Revolution.

The site-specific performance was played throughout the building with the active participation of the spectators.
